He took the time to personally get us set up at each of the Columbia Gorge wineries, and made several detours during the day to check out local events, point out fantastic views, historic sites, and restaurants he would recommend. He was full of information and good humor – everything you could possibly ask for in a guide. Keep up the great work.

Gail did an incredible job of taking care of us during the day. He was so informative, telling us things about the area and about each of the wineries that we never would have known otherwise. We had the BEST TIME on your tour.
Christiwas awesome. We drove around by ourselves our first day in town, and we couldn’t believe how much we had missed by trying to read the map, find sideroads, etc. Christi answered all of our questions, made great suggestions on hiking trails and windsurfing spots in the Gorge, and even helped us plan the rest of our trip. We expected somebody to just drive us around. What we got was a full tour guide/concierge/travel agent/ and gourmet lunch all in one. Wish we could take her every time we go on vacation.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU! to you and Phil for a wonderful May Day experience. We had such a great time and Phil was such a pleasure to have as a driver. He was pleasant and knowledgeable and tolerated our cackling and belly laughing and incessant talking in the van. My husband says the volume level goes up several decibels when we all get together. The wineries we went to were all fabulous and we are already talking about when we are going to do this again as a group. I am attaching a few pictures from our trip. Mount Hood and the Columbia River Gorge
Sixty miles east of Portland, through the Columbia River Gorge, the Cascade Mountains, and Mount Hood, the land and air go from moist to arid in a very short distance. Phil and Christi Duvic, newlyweds and owners of Hood River Tours, were the first to start a tour operation in the area that focuses on wine. They pick parties up from their hotels and treat them to personalized four- to five-hour tours, including a carefully prepared lunch. "We want our guests to relax and have fun," Christi says. "The wineries are glad to see them and most of the time they will get to talk to the owner. It's a great way for people to come out and get started wine tasting." The Duvics keep the tour size small. They take groups of up to 14 people in a passenger van, and up to six people in a mini-van for parties who don't know each other. And because Hood River and The Dalles are so close in proximity yet so different in soil and climate, they find it easy to demonstrate the importance of terroir. "The Barberas and Syrahs coming out of The Dalles area are really great. And the Hood River seems to have something for every palate," Christi says. "It's a great place to discover."
