On a wintery day in the Columbia Gorge, owner Phillip savored a glass of Merlot at Maryhill winery. Enjoying the rich flavors and scenic view, he thought how others might enjoy Gorge wineries without having to drive.
An idea was started to form Hood River Tours, and specialize in taking guests on custom private wine tours in the Columbia Gorge region.
We started booking guests and formed a partnership with local hotels and wineries to offer wine tours.
The half day custom tour package takes guests to favorite wineries in Hood River.
“Couples really enjoy the romantic getaway and uniqueness of the tour" says Phillip.
“It makes a great gift and a special way to see the sights of the Columbia Gorge.
We often make impromptu stops at Hood River shopping and local Fruit stands along the way. The guests make local purchases and help to support the community.
If you are a wine enthusiast, we'd love to show you our area and introduce you to the outstanding wines of the Columbia Gorge APA."

Columbia Tours founder Phillip. Former window business owner in Atlanta, GA his dramatic career change occurred after visiting The Gorge on vacation. He found a passion for the area with windsurfing and the incredible scenery with wineries.
Phillip commits himself to developing the wine tour business and learning about the local history. His enthusiasm for the Gorge shows with every tour he gives.

Wine researcher
Christi enjoys scouting out the best wineries in the area and taking
groups out for the day. With a background in marketing and Graphic Design she helps with the daily operations and putting together
packages for a unique experience. Bachelorette parties, corporate tours
and wedding guests are always welcomed to our region!
